In this section we will be sharing stories in the form of articles, pictorial scripts, videos and other media on the problems faced by parents in daily life scenarios and what they did to better manage them. Our aim is to make public aware of the situations that may arise with special needs children during the puberty stage and develop understanding, develop empathy among them on how they can potentially help the parents in handling these situations.

We shall also be sharing incidents of inappropriate touch and sexual abuse on persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities. We, at VARTA, believe that it is not enough to deliver the information regarding sexual abuse to just the parents/care-giving community but it must also reach the society as a whole. This is because the child/adult with special needs has to ultimately live in society and hence it is important to sensitize public on issues surrounding sexual abuse, verbal abuse, substance abuse, physical abuse and other abuses so that next time if you observe such heinous activities, you can save/protect the child/adult and report & raise your voice against such wrong-doings.
